Someone submits a report through the "Report Deviation" button and waits to get reviewed by the administration. When a report of the same deviation the report merges with the current report and get's a higher chance of an administrator reviewing it.
As told by dxd.
The help desk reports go like this:
A deviant finds another deviant who is breaking the rules and files a report using the help desk and awaits a response from an administrator. While another deviant files a report about the same deviant, thus the staff now have two
reports of the same person. Sure they're categorized. But they do not merge together, making it more difficult for the administration who deals with reports if there is twenty reports about one deviant.
Q: But what about reporting an entire gallery that's made with nothing but copyrighted material or offensive deviations?
While it does seem like too much to handle, a massive gallery containing reportable deviations cannot be reported through the help desk. I know from experience that it cannot be done.
If you see a massive reportable gallery, then note a friend and ask for help or report one deviation and add a note in the "Is there anything else the staff needs to know?" comment box describing the gallery so that the administration can view it.
Q: Can't I just make a journal asking people to report someone?
Making a journal will only make the situation worse since people will get confused and it will most likely provoke drama.
Q: Can't the admins just make it so the help desk reports get merged also?
In addition to what dxd said to me at the top of this journal, he also said that the administration doesn't want to figure out how to merge help desk reports nor do they want to attempt it, although I am currently unaware as to why.
Q: My report came back invalid, why is this?
Be careful as to what you report to the help desk. Here are some useful information and FAQs:
Call-out Journals: Since the rules are shifting once again, only report a journal of it contains ether threats or harassment against another deviant.
FAQ #34: Are there any rules for the journals?
FAQ #238: How do I report people for abuse, harassment, or another issue I think is a problem?
Rude commenting and trolling: Reporting someone that is trolling or being extremely rude is not harassment in any sort of way. it only counts as such if the deviant is threatening you or evading a block you've put on them.
FAQ #3: Are there restrictions to comments?
FAQ #96: Can I block people from interacting with me?
Reporting a gallery: This will most likely come back invalid since galleries are to be reported one deviation at a time (also see the first question stated in this journal).
FAQ #155: How do I report a deviation which I think breaks the rules?
In short, only one report is needed for the help desk. If you think someone has reported something to the help desk already or of you find it through a group of deviants who report others, don't report it yourself as it has most likely been reported already.
